Dental Mission to Kenya

In August 2013, Smiles Bring Hope took a trip to Kenya to visit the slums of Kibera and perform dental exams on local children. We partnered with three nonprofit groups for this trip: the Daughters of Charity in, NY/Kenya (where we worked with Sister Jocelyn), the African Health Community Program (AHCP) in Kenya, and with LaSalle Institute in Troy, NY in connection with their sister school, St. Mary’s School for Boys, in Nyeri, Kenya . Together, over 150 kids were screened and care was arranged for those children needing immediate care. We were very thankful for the grant of dental supplies from Henry Schein Cares, which we used in our treatment of all the kids.

Keep your eyes open for our trip to Belize, January 18-25, 2014. Excess supplies from the Henry Schein Cares Grant will be used there as well.
