On July 11, 2012, the Goodman Dental Care Team hosted their second annual Donated Dental Day at their office in Annapolis. It was a very busy day of providing free dental care to residents of Annapolis who have very limited access to dental care. The patients seen were on a waiting list at the Stanton Center, an outreach clinic administered by Anne Arundel Medical Center. Because of the large demand, and limited resources
available, these patients must wait months for dental care. More than $17,000 dollars of dentistry was provided to these needy and appreciative folks and included extractions, composite restorations, periodontal treatments, root canal treatments, and partial dentures. Providing the care, were Dr. Jeremy Goodman, Dr. Gary Goodman, dental hygienists MaryJane Messick, Lisa Mellits, dental assistants Renee O’Rourke, Charnae Wood, and administrative assistants, Linda Edelen, and Sarah Thawley. Additional assistance was provided by staff of the Stanton Center.
Providing laboratory support was Philip Gold of Oral Arts Dental Laboratory.
We are also very grateful for the generous donation of supplies provided by the Henry Schein Care Foundation, Bev Bochak of Henry Schein, 3M, Voco, and BFI.
Everyone who participated in this project felt that they received more than they gave and we look forward to our next opportunity to give back to our wonderful community.
